Why I Started a Pet Blog As a stay-at-home mom with part-time freelance gigs and a kid getting ready to return to school after his summer break, I found myself staring down the barrel of a whole lot of free time. After some deliberation, I concluded that I would find a way to combine my love for animals with my love for writing. So I decided I would start a pet blog. For as far back as I can remember, I have had a special affinity for all animals big and small. I was a quiet child, often alone. I didn't make friends with humans easily but have always connected with animals. I had many pets as a child and whenever I would go visit other people's homes, my first question was always, "Do you have any pets?" If they did, I would spend the evening visiting and talking with their pets, ignoring any humans on the scene.
